Instructions for Installation and Usage
Prepare Your Workspace:
- Ensure you have a clean, dry, and wellventilated area.
- Gather all necessary materials from the kit: Sulfamic Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Lye, and test strips.
Neutralization Process:
- Step 1: Measure the amount of Oxynate Bluing Salts you wish to neutralize.
- Step 2: In a suitable container, add water first, then carefully add the measured amount of Lye. Stir until fully dissolved.
- Step 3: Slowly add Sulfamic Acid to the Lye solution while stirring continuously. This may produce heat and fumes; ensure you are wearing protective gear.
- Step 4: Use the pH Color Test Strips to check the pH level. Aim for a neutral pH of 7.
- Step 5: If the solution is too acidic, add small amounts of Hydrochloric Acid to adjust accordingly, again stirring continuously.
- Step 6: Once neutralized, dispose of the solution according to local regulations.
Testing for Completeness:
- Use the Potassium Iodide Starch Test Strips to confirm that the neutralization process is complete.
- Ensure that the solution no longer reacts with the test strips.
Disposal Instructions
- Dispose of any unused chemicals and neutralized solutions in accordance with local hazardous waste regulations.
