Cleaning brushes have machined aluminum components that don’t react with ammonia-based solvents like brass parts sometimes do. Won’t produce blue-green stains on your patches that can be misinterpreted as “false positive” indications of copper fouling, so you’ll know when your bore really is copper-free. Similar in hardness to brass, Copper Eliminator parts won’t scratch the bore or damage the muzzle, and they’ll stand up to hard use. Nylon bristles wound around an aluminum core and male-threaded aluminum coupling are completely brass-free to eliminate false-positive blue-green indications of copper fouling that can occur when using ammonia-based solvents with brass core brushes. Dense nylon bristles give plenty of scrubbing power, yet are extremely gentle on the rifling. .17 and .20 caliber brushes with 5-40 threads extend the benefits of the Copper Eliminator system to your existing small-caliber rod. The .22 caliber and larger brushes have 8-32 threads for use with Dewey Copper Eliminator rods.

COPPER ELIMINATOR BORE BRUSHES SAFETY INSTRUCTION GUIDE

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Copper Eliminator Bore Brushes by Dewey. These cleaning brushes are designed to provide effective cleaning of your firearm's bore without the risk of copper fouling indicators that can occur with traditional brass brushes. This safety instruction guide aims to ensure the safe and effective use of the product, in compliance with the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR).

General Safety Guidelines

Always handle your firearm and cleaning tools with care to prevent accidents.
Ensure that the cleaning brushes are suitable for your specific caliber before use.
Keep cleaning brushes out of reach of children and vulnerable individuals.
Inspect the brushes for any signs of damage before use. Do not use damaged brushes.
Follow all local laws and regulations regarding firearm maintenance and cleaning.

Specific Safety Precautions for Use

Use the Copper Eliminator Bore Brushes only as intended – for cleaning the bore of firearms.
Avoid using ammoniabased solvents with brass components, as they may react and produce misleading indications of copper fouling.
Ensure that the brush is securely attached to the cleaning rod before use to prevent detachment during cleaning.
Do not force the brush through the bore; use gentle, steady pressure to avoid damaging the rifling.
Store the brushes in a dry place to prevent deterioration of the nylon bristles and aluminum components.

Instructions for Installation and Usage

Selecting the Right Brush:
- Choose the appropriate caliber brush for your firearm. The Copper Eliminator Bore Brushes are available in various calibers, including .17 and .20 caliber with 540 threads, and .22 caliber and larger with 832 threads.
Attaching the Brush:
- Thread the bore brush onto the cleaning rod securely. Ensure it is tightly fastened to prevent it from coming loose during use.
Cleaning the Bore:
- Apply a suitable cleaning solvent to the brush or directly into the bore.
- Insert the brush into the bore gently and begin to scrub using a backandforth motion.
- Avoid excessive force; let the brush do the work for effective cleaning without damaging the bore.
Removing the Brush:
- Once cleaning is complete, carefully remove the brush from the bore by reversing the motion.
- Clean the brush and rod after use, and ensure they are dry before storage.

Disposal Instructions

Dispose of the Copper Eliminator Bore Brushes in accordance with local regulations regarding waste disposal.
Do not dispose of the brushes in regular household waste if they are damaged or contain hazardous materials.
